We are looking for an experienced personal injury specialist to join our in-house team and serve as a key resource within a busy intake operation. In this role, you will assess new matters as they come in, guide intake staff through effective issue spotting, and help ensure promising cases are advanced quickly and accurately. This position is well suited for someone with strong judgment, deep knowledge of personal injury claims, and the ability to bring structure and leadership to a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities:
• Evaluate incoming personal injury inquiries in real time and determine the most appropriate next step based on case details and firm guidelines.
• Partner with intake team members during calls and submissions to uncover essential facts, clarify liability and damages issues, and capture complete information.
• Identify urgent, high-exposure, or time-sensitive matters and move them forward quickly to support timely review and response.
• Assess gaps in documentation, records, or factual development and coordinate necessary follow-up to strengthen the initial evaluation.
• Rank new matters according to urgency, potential recovery, and overall fit for the practice.
• Route inquiries efficiently to the appropriate attorney, department, or escalation point, using sound judgment on routine decisions.
• Elevate complex, uncertain, or high-value cases to firm leadership for additional review and direction.
• Track open intake matters to help prevent delays, missed opportunities, or incomplete follow-up.
• Coach intake staff on stronger questioning techniques, case screening practices, and recognition of important personal injury issues.
• Work closely with attorneys and operational leadership to improve consistency, responsiveness, and accountability throughout the intake process.

• At least 3 years of experience reviewing, handling, or assessing personal injury matters in a legal setting.

• Demonstrated knowledge of personal injury claims, including liability analysis, damages evaluation, insurance coverage, and filing deadlines.

• Background as a personal injury paralegal, claims specialist, attorney, or former attorney is strongly preferred.

• Ability to make prompt, practical decisions while managing a high volume of incoming matters.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to guide, train, and support intake team members effectively.

• Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail when evaluating facts, records, and follow-up needs.

• Comfortable working collaboratively on-site with intake staff, attorneys, managers, and firm leadership in Lakewood, New Jersey.
