About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: New York license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience - Ability to take a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio - Floating required Description: MUST HAVE NEW YORK LICENSE IN HAND - NO EXCEPTIONS. Specialty: MSDU RN. Shift: 3x12 Nights. Weekend: Every other weekend. First-time travelers are accepted. Must be within a 75-mile radius. All patients will have continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring. We care for adult acute care patients who require more specialized care than is available on a general medical-surgical unit. Patient care services vary depending on each individual's specific needs. The team adapts quickly, is vigilant, and provides compassionate care using a multi-disciplinary approach. Candidates must have experience with the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Candidates should be proficient in IV therapy, including peripheral line care and management. Experience with respiratory management is required, including nasal cannula and oxygen administration. Isolation precautions are necessary. The unit comprises of 26 beds. Patient population includes those needing airway management, acute BIPAP support, as well as patients with arterial lines and central lines. Titrated medicated IV infusions are a part of patient care. Dysrhythmias management and rapid response/code teams involvement are expected. The patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. The average daily census is 17 patients. The unit collaborates with various interdisciplinary teams such as IV, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
