About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: New York RN license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Epic charting experience Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 Experience with telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation Description: Candidates must have a valid New York RN license. The nurse will work three 12-hour night shifts. Every other weekend is required. First-time travelers are accepted. Candidates must live within a 75-mile radius. The nurse will float to needed areas. Continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring is provided for all patients. The nurse will care for adult, acute care patients requiring specialized care. Key responsibilities include airway management, BIPAP support, and care for patients with arterial and central lines. The nurse will administer titrated medicated IV infusions as needed. Daily census is expected to be around 17 patients in the unit. The unit is supported by interdisciplinary teams including IV, respiratory, and physical therapy services. Patient diagnoses will focus on all medical conditions, particularly pulmonary patients. Nurses must adhere to isolation precautions and demonstrate competency in various nursing skills relevant to the unit.
