HousmanThe Housman is responsible for supporting our housekeeping team by preparing guest rooms for service, cleanliness of guest corridors, and in-room linen distribution. This role supports overall hotel operations by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation while contributing to a positive guest experience.Essential functions include:Facility sanitation: Clean hotel lobbies, hallways, elevators, and public restrooms. Vacuum carpets, wash windows, and polish fixtures.Linen & supply logistics: Transport fresh linens to guest rooms, removal of soiled laundry, and sorting soiled linen. Stock satellite storages with linen and supplies.Maintenance & repair: Handle light maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, plunging toilets, and/or performing paint touch-ups.Event & furniture setup assistance: Rearrange furniture in meeting rooms and assist with banquet or event set-ups, cleaning, and breakdowns as needed.Guest assistance: Respond to assigned requests for extra towels, rollaway beds, or luggage assistance.Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals, use of PPE (gloves, goggles), proper lifting technique, and adherence to hotel safety standards.Accurately complete daily production logs, inventory counts, and required documentation with hotel supplied electronic device.Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of linens, chemicals, and supplies.Stock and organize linen storage areas, carts, and racks to support housekeeping operations.Coordinate with housekeeping and leadership to ensure timely removal of soiled linens, trash, and delivery of clean linens to guest rooms.Deliver clean linen to designated areas and departments as needed.Identify and report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or suspicious activity to leadership in a timely manner.Maintain confidentiality of hotel information and protect company assets at all times.Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and leadership.Support additional housekeeping duties during peak business demands, including assisting with guest rooms if needed.All other duties as assigned.Environment/physical requirements:Prior experience in janitorial work, housekeeping, or hospitality is highly preferred.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and move throughout the property for extended periods.Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 45lbs consistently and up to 75lbs occasionally with assistance or without assistance.Ability to spot safety hazards, report maintenance issues, and organize supply inventory.Frequently requires availability for nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate high-volume seasons or events.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and cleaning chemicals.Ability to operate laundry equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely and effectively.Required qualifications:Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality standards.Basic communication skills.Ability to follow safety procedures and operational guidelines.Embody our core values: respect, integrity, humility, empathy, creativity, fun.Preferred qualifications:Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, or hospitality operations preferred.Familiarity with laundry equipment and chemical handling procedures.Knowledge of hotel operations and housekeeping workflows.Hyatt Place complies with all laws prohibiting discrimination against employees and applicants based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, national origin, citizenship status, disability, genetic information, or veterans' status.Source: Hospitality Online
