The Director of Catering and Convention Services leads the strategic direction, sales, and execution of events at hotels or convention centers. Responsibilities include maximizing food and beverage revenue, managing client relations, generating Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and supervising staff. 

• Sales & Revenue Growth: Prospect and secure catering and convention business. Actively up-sell services, negotiate contracts, and meet departmental revenue goals. 
• Event Planning & Logistics: Collaborate with clients to plan customized menus, timelines, and floor plans. Produce accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and resumes to communicate event details to all operational departments. 
• Operational Execution: Act as the primary liaison between the client and hotel/convention staff. Oversee setup, food quality, audio-visual execution, and breakdown to ensure flawless delivery. 
• Financial Management: Prepare annual budgets, forecast food and beverage revenue, and analyze monthly performance metrics. 
• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor the catering and conference services team. Foster a service-driven culture and handle performance evaluations. 

• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in catering sales or conference services, often with previous supervisory experience. 
• Education: A bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred, though equivalent experience is often accepted. 
• Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Must remain calm and composed in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. 
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in hospitality and event management systems, such as Delphi, Sales Pro, MeetingBroker, Social Tables, and Microsoft Office.
