Rebate Analyst

Requisition ID :20902 Employment Type: Full Time Job Category: Accounting/Finance Work Location: Davidson, NC (CSC) The Rebate Analyst is responsible for analyzing, maintaining, processing, validating, submitting for payment, and reconciling discrepancies for all customer rebates. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Tracks rebate programs with varying terms and conditions for several MSC customers. Responsible for working with the Contracts Compliance and Legal teams each month to review expiring rebates and new rebates. Makes any necessary additions or adjustments to the Excel rebate model ensuring it is programmed with the latest terms and conditions. Ability to understand the terms and conditions of a contract as they relate to compliance requirements and the parameters under which the rebates are paid. Updates the Excel rebate model with customer Sales and payment data by running Business Objects queries and downloading detail from the general ledger. Manually calculate rebates that can't be maintained in the Excel rebate model. On a monthly basis, performs tests on the largest rebate customers to analyze whether or not an accrual adjustment is necessary. Update detailed rebate accrual document and provide to Financial Reporting to ensure rebate costs are accurately reflected in the financial results. Process customer payments including reviewing customer Receivables balances; preparing check requests, cover letters, and detailed customer support to be emailed and mailed to customer. Compiles and tabulates customer rebate terms and conditions information manually into a database. Ability to analyze the rebate process and make recommendations to streamline or improve the process. Respond in a timely manner to inquiries from both internal and external customers as they relate to customer accruals, sales information, rebate status and rebate payment history. Work with the Sales Team to provide estimated payouts for customer Business Reviews. Work with the Internal Audit Team on projects/testing of rebate process. Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose. Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree (Business, Accounting or Finance) Minimum of three years relevant experience required.

SKILLS:

Advanced proficiency with Excel Spreadsheets and Business Objects required. Strong analytical ability, originality and ingenuity required. The demonstrated ability to enter and retrieve data quickly is also required. Experience with SAP, Oracle and SQL database (including Essbase) queries and reporting required.li> Previous work with reviewing contracts required. Good verbal and written skills required. Excellent organizational skills required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

A valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 5% of the time are required. This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”). Compensation starting at $58,000 - $91,080 depending on candidate location and experience. The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
