Admin Support Assistant

LINES OF AUTHORITY This position is supervised bythe Administrative Support Supervisor. Unless specifically designated, thisposition does not supervise any other personnel. POSITION SUMMARY The main function of this positionis answering phones, taking requests for services, greet and check in clients,and schedule Behavioral Health Medical Practitioner (BHMP) and clinician appointments. PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Answers phones, route calls, take messages. Greets and check in clients for appointments. Enters service request details into the ElectronicHealth Record (EHR)/computer system(s), ensuring accurate and complete dataentry. . Verify insurance and eligibility coverage Schedules appointments for the BHMP and clinicalstaff. Screens and provides other service programs whenrequired. Collects co-payments and payments. Process medication refills by verifying clientinformation and prescription details within the EMR and communicating concernswith the BHMPs. Provides customer service to internal and externalcustomers and stakeholders. Participates in the Performance ImprovementProcesses in the Clinic. The employee must work well under pressure meetingmultiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.The employee shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior withcolleagues and supervisors. Able to effectively de-escalate clients usingtechniques as trained and outlined in approved crisis intervention models. Performs other duties as assigned. PRIMARY CONTACTS Internal contact with all work staff Frequent contact with clients and community POSITION REQUISITES QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Required: High School Diploma or GED. Age 21 or older. One year experience as a customer servicerepresentative or like position dealing in a high volume customer contact in amedical setting or customer focused profession such as retail, hotel andrestaurant services. Current fingerprint card or the ability toobtain one clear of any restrictions Valid AZ driver's license and current automobileinsurance SKILLS/ABILITIES Required: Computer, Windows office program experience,answering phones for a multi-line system. Dealing with the public in an office setting. Understand and follow instructions Work independently Able to prioritize tasks Ability to drive a company vehicle WORKING CONDITIONS PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Able to sit for extended periods of time. Frequent reaching and occasional kneeling. Able to enter data for extended periods. Able to lift up to 35 to 40 lbs. Must be available for travel EQUIPMENT OPERATION PC, telephone, fax, 10-key, shredder, copier ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS Air conditioned and/or heated office setting.
