Executive Director, Oncology Policy Tumor

Merck seeks an Executive Director to lead oncology policy and public affairs strategy, serving as the senior policy expert and representing the company to global health organizations. The role involves developing integrated engagement strategies, leading a team of three policy specialists, and advising senior leadership on emerging public health trends and geopolitical issues.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and execution of integrated engagement strategies with global public health organizations
- Serve as senior oncology policy expert and public affairs representative to international organizations
- Partner with commercial and cross-functional leaders to inform enterprise strategies with policy expertise
- Lead team of three professionals and ensure alignment with overall oncology policy strategy
- Identify emerging global trends and advise senior leadership on risks and strategic implications
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Health, Public Administration, Political Science, or International Relations
- 15+ years of global oncology policy experience with engagement in multilateral organizations
- Demonstrated success shaping public policy and advancing objectives through institutional engagement
- Strategic thought leadership ability and counsel to senior executives on complex policy issues
- Team leadership skills in matrixed, cross-functional organizations
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for executive briefings
- Ability to navigate complex global policy environments and develop enterprise-wide solutions
