Hiring Department University of Missouri‑Kansas City, School of Dentistry, Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences. Job Description The UMKC School of Dentistry seeks a full‑time, 100% FTE faculty member to serve as Department Chair of Restorative Clinical Sciences. The Chair is responsible for leading the vision, strategic direction, and long‑term growth of the department, overseeing departmental operations, supervising faculty and staff, managing curriculum and fiscal stewardship, and ensuring high‑quality didactic and clinical education across the full scope of general dentistry and predoctoral prosthodontics. Responsibilities include mentoring and evaluating faculty, providing input on promotion, tenure, reappointment, and merit processes, and supporting faculty scholarship and professional growth. The Chair collaborates with team leaders, clinical affairs, clinical operations, and other clinic leadership to support effective clinical education, patient care, and faculty development. The Chair manages departmental curriculum and academic workload assignments, aligns teaching responsibilities with clinical operations, ensures compliance with CODA accreditation standards and institutional policies, and communicates regularly with the Dean and participates in school leadership and committee meetings. The Chair serves as a key liaison between departmental faculty and school administration. Qualifications DDS or DMD degree, or a foreign equivalent professional dental degree. Eligibility for licensure in the State of Missouri, including successful completion of required clinical licensure examinations. Preferred: Prior leadership experience in dental education.
