Mobile Heavy-Duty Diesel Diagnostic Specialist

Job Description

Job Description

Own the Open Road with Transwest Mobile — Phoenix

Picture your day: sunrise in Phoenix, a fully outfitted service truck at your side, and a mission to get critical equipment back to work fast. At Transwest Mobile, you’ll diagnose the toughest diesel, hydraulic, and electrical issues right where the machines work — across job sites and facilities — helping contractors, municipalities, and fleet operators stay on schedule across Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, and Utah.

Your Impact

You’ll be the expert customers count on when performance matters most. You will:

• Run advanced diagnostics on heavy-duty diesel platforms, hydraulics, and complex electrical systems (including CAN bus and ECM) — plus medium- and light-duty units.
• Execute engine overhauls, component rebuilds, and intricate mechanical repairs with accuracy and speed.
• Leverage OEM service information and sophisticated diagnostic tools to get to root cause quickly.
• Coach and guide junior technicians, raising the bar on technique, safety, and teamwork.
• Engage directly with customers, explaining findings and recommending next steps with clarity.
• Document work thoroughly and maintain detailed service records.
• Champion process improvements and uphold safety and performance standards on every job.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5–10+ years in heavy equipment, diesel, or hydraulic system service.
• Mastery of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems; comfort with CAN bus and ECM diagnostics.
• A complete professional tool set appropriate for mobile repair.
• Organized, self-directed, and calm under pressure in the field.
• Valid driver’s license and able to operate a company vehicle (mobile role).
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working indoors and outdoors.

Preferred Credentials

• Multiple ASE certifications (T2–T8) or Master Diesel Technician.
• Hands-on experience with construction and earthmoving machinery: hydraulics, powertrains, undercarriage, and electronic controls.
• Leadership experience as a lead tech, supervisor, or shop manager.
• Proven mobile/field service expertise and customer-facing communication on job sites.

Benefits and Rewards

• Meaningful work: keep essential fleets operational with high-stakes, complex repairs.
• Leadership pathway: mentor others and influence our field service practices.
• Team of experts: a culture that celebrates innovation, craftsmanship, and collaboration.
• Comprehensive package: medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k); life and disability insurance.
• HSA with employer match.
• Paid time off and holidays.
• Referral incentives.
• Performance-based overtime opportunities.
• On-the-job training and continuous upskilling.
• Work boot allowance, provided uniforms, and laundering.
• Company-provided vehicle for mobile assignments.
