Role Description The Medical Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role located in Tamarac, FL. This position is responsible for greeting patients, checking them in and out, verifying insurance information, and collecting necessary documentation and payments. Day-to-day tasks include answering and directing phone calls, managing appointment scheduling, coordinating patient referrals, and maintaining accurate patient records in the practice management systems. The Medical Receptionist also supports the clinical staff by preparing charts, updating patient information, and ensuring the reception and waiting areas are organized and welcoming. This role requires consistent professionalism, confidentiality, and clear communication with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in appointment scheduling and managing patient flow. Candidates should possess excellent phone etiquette and general receptionist duties, including greeting and directing patients and visitors. Candidates should possess knowledge of medical terminology and experience in a medical office or healthcare environment. Candidates should possess accurate data entry, basic computer literacy, and familiarity with electronic health record or scheduling systems. High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare front office role is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
