Job TitleJob Overview:Pay Range: $23.11hr - $25.00hrRequirement/Must Have:Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, and updating patient information.Ability to demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Full understanding of physicians’ orders.Knowledge of OSHA and DEP regulations.Ability to attend annual department trainings.Responsibilities:Assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Explain the process of venipuncture or other specimen collection in a clear and courteous manner.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport and store samples according to required temperatures.Place samples in appropriate collection containers and follow specific protocols to maintain specimen integrity during transport.Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Skills:Phlebotomy.Venipuncture.Specimen Processing.Centrifugation.Data Entry.OSHA Compliance.Qualification And Education:Strong verbal and written communication skills.
