Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Operating Room for a weekend day/evening shift position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring strong neuro, ortho, transplant, trauma, and vascular experience.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
• Circulate independently on off shift
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day/Evening shift, 12-hour shifts, 0700-1900, working every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• No call requirements
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (WI or Compact) currently in hand
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum of two years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the OR specialty
• Strong experience in neuro, ortho, transplant (kidney/liver), trauma, and vascular surgery required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria for both adult and pediatric rhythm identification

Additional Information

• Perform circulating duties independently in the OR, supporting a variety of surgical specialties including vascular, cardiovascular, general surgery, orthopedic, neurology, urology, robotics, transplant, thoracic, and ENT procedures
• Facility is ranked Wisconsin's #1 hospital and is recognized as one of the nation's leading hospitals, teaching institutions, and referral centers
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have a minimum of five years of experience working in a Level 1 trauma facility
• Parking permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite; alternative transportation options such as bus and park & ride are available
