In this role, you will report to the Manager, Revenue Recognition and be responsible for the day-to-day revenue accounting as part of a broader team. The ideal candidate will be one who is a proactive learner, takes initiative, and is a great team player. Candidate will be a talented and passionate individual who is interested in joining and helping us take Proofpoint to the next level.Location: This is a hybrid role based in our Draper, UT office - 4 days a week.Job Requirements The What:Demonstrate proficiency with revenue accounting rules under ASC 606 by performing deal review on multiple-element SaaS & software arrangements to ensure accurate revenue recognition treatmentContribute to process and system improvements in the revenue cycle including ERP system enhancement and projectsPrepare analyses, journal entries, and related account reconciliationsParticipate in the monthly closeAssist in preparation of audit requests as neededPerform processes and procedures to comply with SOX 404 control frameworkParticipate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assignedThe How:Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, ideally CPA, CPA candidate, or similar levelExperience in accounting in industry and/or public accounting, focus on SaaS & software revenue recognition requiredProficient technical and operational knowledge of ASC 606 and multiple-element arrangementsAbility to form excellent relationships and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teamsManage multiple priorities well and handle assigned tasks with attention to detailSelf-starter with a proactive approach to problem solving and follow throughOperate as a team and/or independently while demonstrating flexibility to changing requirements, time constraints, and deadlinesTake a clean sheet approach when revisiting operational processesProficient with Microsoft Excel with the ability to analyze and organize large amounts of dataExperience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 and Zuora Revenue is a plusWhy Proofpoint?At Proofpoint, we believe that an exceptional career experience includes a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
