Senior Managing Consultant, Air Quality Compliance and Permitting Location: Arlington, VA, USA About the Role The Air Sciences Group consults with clients across industries on air permitting, emissions estimation, regulatory enforcement, air dispersion modeling, human health risk assessment, and climate-related sustainability initiatives. As a senior managing consultant, you will provide technical and business leadership, managing consulting assignments, leading multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities Facilitate preparation of air quality permit applications and environmental impact reports Manage complex projects and serve as the technical lead for Consultant and Senior Consultant level staff Manage client relationships and develop deliverables to meet client needs efficiently Critically review and interpret local, state, and federal environmental regulations, compile regulatory applicability determinations, and communicate findings to co‑workers, clients, and regulatory agencies Identify and pursue business development opportunities Conduct site visits Qualifications 10+ years of experience in air quality permitting and compliance B.S. or M.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering or a related science/engineering discipline Demonstrated business development capabilities Ability to manage client and regulatory agency relationships and internally manage staff and competing project priorities Experience training and utilizing junior consulting staff and leading project teams Salary Transparency The anticipated base salary range for this position is $143,000 to $179,000 per year. Salary may vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Additional compensation can include bonus, overtime, or other forms of compensation.
