Purchasing Clerk

As the Purchasing Clerk, your role will be vital in supporting the team by gathering, organizing, and distributing all the necessary documents for the successful qualification and maintenance of vendors. You will be responsible for maintaining our comprehensive filing system and a computer database for all documents that will be retained in the Document Control area.

• Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint Systems
• An understanding of manufacturing process is a plus
• 1-2 years minimum document control experience preferred
• Must be able to problem solve, prioritize tasks and seek assistance when needed
• Experience with nutritional ingredients, food and dietary supplement documents is a plus
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a timely manner
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Detailed oriented with strong analytical, problem solving, presentation, and organization skills; and ability to work efficiently, independently and collaboratively
• Must be willing to work overtime or on weekends, as the workload demands

• Request, review, and file required vendor, and part documents
• Maintains Vendor database
• Manage and maintain excellent working relationships with suppliers, customers, peers and management
• Daily review of expiry reports and raw material qualification status
• Oversee raw material qualification process
• Follows-up on expedite requests and past due purchase orders
• Store documents appropriately in ProCaps proprietary ERP system
• Maintain various reporting functions in Purchasing Department (Specs & Vendor Packets)
• Inspection of submitted documents
• Maintains files, records and reports as required
• Responsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scope
• Provide cross functional support for internal customers
• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

• Duties are performed primarily in a smoke-free office environment
