Job Description

Two full-time contract positions are available for passionate educators skilled in special education methodologies. These opportunities focus on delivering instruction within alternate curriculum classrooms, closely aligned with life skills education. Openings are offered at both elementary and high school levels, ensuring a placement that best matches your interests and expertise.

Assignments run from as soon as possible through May 21, 2027, providing long-term stability and an opportunity to establish meaningful connections with students and staff.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Valid credentials or certification for teaching special education in a school setting
Experience working in elementary or high school special education preferred
Familiarity with alternate curriculum classrooms and life skills programming
Strong ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs
Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities & Duties:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
Provide direct instruction and modify the curriculum to support functional and academic skill development
Facilitate social, behavioral, and life skills training using evidence-based strategies
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and family members to optimize student success
Track and document student progress, maintaining accurate records in accordance with district and state guidelines
Participate in parent conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings
