Pain Territory Account Manager - Los Angeles, CA South

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Pain Territory Account Manager in Los Angeles to build relationships with hospital decision-makers and promote JOURNAVX, a pain management product. The role involves managing 15-20 institutional accounts, navigating formulary processes, and driving sales performance across California and Hawaii territories.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain relationships with hospital medical staff, pharmacy leaders, and formulary decision-makers across 15-20 institutions
- Develop clinical expertise on JOURNAVX and educate healthcare professionals on appropriate product use
- Navigate formulary processes and secure product inclusion on institutional formularies and care protocols
- Conduct stakeholder mapping and account planning to identify business opportunities and growth strategies
- Collaborate with Territory Business Managers, field medical teams, and headquarters to execute aligned business plans
Requirements
- 5-7+ years biotech sales experience with hospital product launch background
- 3+ years account management experience with existing institutional relationships
- Demonstrated ability to navigate hospital systems and formulary decision-making processes
- Experience implementing inpatient formularies, protocols, pathways, and order sets
- Proficiency with IT systems including Veeva CRM
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Willingness to travel up to 80% by car or airplane
Compensation: $133,600 - $200,400 base
