Field Technician LAUKOA is seeking Field Technicians to support cultural resource management work in Texas along the U.S./Mexico border. This is a temporary position for a field based cultural resources recovery project offering at least 40 hours a week and expected to last 3 weeks. Applicant must be able to pass a federal and state background check, as well as a drug test as part of the pre-employment process for project-based assignments. Per Diem is provided at federal rates. Responsibilities Recording of cultural resources Testing, excavation, and data recovery Completion of daily activity logs Communication and coordination with LAUKOA team members Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or a closely related field 2+ years of relevant experience or professional internships Familiarity with environmental and cultural regulations including but not limited to NHPA, NEPA, ARPA, and NAGPRA Ability to identify historic and pre-contact artifacts and features Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills. Experience recording recording/writing technical data a plus Detail oriented and proactive in troubleshooting/problem solving in the field Must possess a valid driver’s license Ability to operate a 4WD vehicle Ability to work in very remote areas and in rugged terrain Ability to withstand high outdoor temperaturesAbility to stand and walk for long periods Ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40lbs LAUKOA is an Equal Opportunity/VEVRAA federal contractor.
