Lab/Clinical Assistant, Radiography is a part-time, non-benefited position that supports faculty in delivering high-quality laboratory and clinical learning experiences. This role ensures a safe and effective environment for students to develop radiography skills by assisting with scheduled lab and clinical sessions. Responsibilities include monitoring and guiding students during hands-on activities, facilitating lab exercises, assessing student performance, and maintaining cleanliness, organization, and inventory of lab spaces and equipment. Additionally, the Lab/Clinical Assistant provides instructional support and mentorship in clinical settings to reinforce student learning and promote competency in radiographic procedures. The expected workload for this position is 12-20 hours per week.

Compensation: $23.76/hr.

Principal Responsibilities and Results, KSA's

Essential Functions: This position is non-exempt and is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative, other duties may be assigned. Position may include one or more of the following duties, or others as assigned:

1. Support Laboratory Instruction: Assist faculty during scheduled lab sessions by preparing instructional materials, guiding students through radiographic procedures, and reinforcing proper techniques to ensure safety and competency.
2. Lead and Monitor Lab Activities: Facilitate student learning during hands-on lab experiences, provide real-time feedback, and assess and score student performance according to established rubrics and program standards.
3. Maintain Lab Environment: Ensure efficient lab preparation and maintenance by setting up equipment, maintaining digital imaging systemsincluding DR, CR, C-arm, and portable unitsand overseeing the functionality, cleanliness, and organization of all radiography equipment and lab spaces.
4. Manage Inventory and Supplies: Monitor and maintain inventory of lab materials, consumables, and equipment; report shortages or malfunctions promptly to faculty or program leadership.
5. Provide Clinical Support: Assist students in clinical settings by reinforcing radiographic techniques, promoting adherence to safety protocols, and serving as a resource for questions. Collaborate with clinical staff to support a positive and effective learning environment.
6. Ensure Compliance and Safety: Uphold radiation safety standards and institutional policies in both lab and clinical environments, ensuring proper use of protective equipment and adherence to accreditation requirements.
7. Collaborate with Faculty and Staff: Communicate effectively with program faculty regarding student progress, equipment needs, and any issues impacting lab or clinical operations.
8. Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional tasks as needed to support program operations and student success.

Other responsibilities may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs. Physical/Mental Demands:

• While performing the essential functions of this position a variable work schedule may be required
• There may be occurrences of interacting with employees and/or students, past employees and/or students, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions, which will require the employee to interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in such situations
• While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
• There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
• An employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
• The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well

Education and Experience Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree from an accredited institution in Radiography
• Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification and registration in radiography -OR- Professional credentials appropriate to the subject content
• Possession or attainment of an unrestricted Wyoming license to practice radiography prior to start date
• A minimum of six months of recent experience in clinical radiography or related healthcare field

*In lieu of the required degree, candidates with equivalent professional experience, industry certifications, or a combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years of full-time post licensure clinical practice
• Instructional experience in a classroom, laboratory, or clinical setting
