Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology (Hematopathology)-CHLA

Overview The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine invite an Assistant/Associate Professor to join our internationally recognized hematopathology program. The role integrates research, clinical service, and teaching within a collaborative environment focused on pediatric hematologic conditions. Responsibilities Provide clinical laboratory services for diagnosis and consultation in areas including clinical chemistry, biochemical genetics, point‑of‑care testing, hematology/coagulation, clinical microbiology and virology, HLA, immunology, flow cytometry, and transfusion medicine. Teach fellows and trainees through the joint hematopathology fellowship program and other postgraduate medical education initiatives. Lead translational research projects in applied laboratory science, molecular genetics, and hematopathology. Collaborate with colleagues in Anatomic Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, Genomic Medicine/Center for Personalized Medicine, and research institutes such as The Saban Research Institute. Qualifications MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree with valid California medical license upon hire. American Board of Pathology certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology, and Hematology (Hematopathology) required; Molecular Genetic Pathology certification or equivalent experience preferred. Demonstrated excellence in laboratory research, clinical service, and education. Experience in flow cytometry, molecular technologies, and translational research is desirable. Compensation The annual base salary range for this position is $250,000–$300,000. USC is an equal opportunity employer.
