Legal Assistant

One of Kansas City's top law firms is looking to add an experienced Legal Assistant to give support to attorneys in multiple practice areas. This position will be responsible for daily case reporting, e-filing, data entry, and expense management. Prior experience in Civil Litigation is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Assist in preparing materials for depositions and hearings. Assist attorneys and paralegals in trial preparation. Manage attorney calendars, telephone calls, and mail, as well as make travel arrangements. Communicate with various courts of law including filing documents, scheduling, and conflict resolution. Prepare, edit, and revise business and legal documents from drafts and/or templates. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and other parties in person, over the phone, and in writing. Requirements Minimum of 3-5 years of legal experience. Litigation experience is strongly preferred. Experience in Business Litigation and/or Intellectual Property law preferred but not required. Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency in Word, Outlook, and CaseNet. Outstanding communication - written and verbal - including excellent spelling and grammar.
