The Opportunity

Dempsey (US) Corporation is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to lead and develop a team of Account Managers while managing an assigned sales territory.

This hands-on leadership position is responsible for driving profitable sales growth, strengthening customer and supplier relationships, developing new business opportunities, and coaching a high-performing sales team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Account Managers to achieve regional sales objectives and support career growth.
• Drive sales growth and profitability across the assigned region while managing an individual territory.
• Develop territory coverage strategies, manage pricing, and protect existing business.
• Conduct joint customer and supplier visits, providing pre-call planning support and post-call coaching.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing and prospective customers.
• Manage regional sales budgets, profitability targets and overall P&L performance.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipelines, customer activities, and project opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and coordinate joint customer R&D projects.
• Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and development discussions.
• Complete approximately 30–50 documented customer interactions monthly, including at least 10 face-to-face customer visits.
• Represent Dempsey at industry trade shows and events.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Food Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of successful functional food ingredient sales experience , including multiple ingredient product lines.
• 2–5 years of sales management, coaching, or leadership experience.
• Proven success growing sales territories, developing new business, and maintaining profitable customer relationships.
• Strong understanding of ingredient functionality, processing equipment, and emerging food industry trends.
• Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Experience with a food ingredient distributor and technical or laboratory R&D experience are considered assets.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel approximately 30–50%, including travel to Canada.
• Valid driver's licence and passport.
• Availability for occasional weekend trade shows.
• Ability to stand for extended periods at exhibitions and drive between customer locations.
