This isnt a production-line welding job.

Youll work in our facilities and out in the field tackling repairs and fabrication on the heavy equipment and components our crews rely on every day. Some jobs will be straightforward. Others will require you to assess the problem figure out the right repair and execute it safely and correctly sometimes in less-than-perfect conditions.

What Youll Do

As a Welder at Alpha Inc. youll help keep our equipment projects and crews moving.

Put Your Craft to Work

• Travel to Alpha project sites and perform welding and repair work as directed by the Heavy Equipment Manager.

• Cut join fabricate and repair metal components for heavy construction equipment rigs pipes and other applications.

• Perform welding in flat vertical and overhead positions.

• Read drawings blueprints and measurements to determine layouts and welding procedures.

• Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment and use tools including angle grinders clamps saws calipers and related equipment.

Make Quality Non-Negotiable

A weld isnt finished just because it looks finished.

• Inspect completed welds and surfaces for structural flaws and workmanship.

• Use appropriate inspection and testing methods to help ensure repairs meet required quality standards.

• Pay attention to fit-up measurements materials and details before during and after the weld.

• Take ownership of your work and address problems instead of passing them down the line.

Keep the Iron Moving

Our equipment earns its keep in demanding environments. Your work helps make sure it stays there.

You may work on excavators dozers backhoes graders loaders haul trucks rigs pipes and other heavy equipment and components across Alphas operations.

Youll need to be comfortable climbing on working around and getting underneath equipment when the job requires it.

Own Safety and Your Work Area

• Maintain welding equipment and tools so they are safe functional and ready to work.

• Follow workplace jobsite and trade safety requirements and practices.

• Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment.

• Recognize hazards and speak up when something isnt right.

• Complete required time and equipment usage reports accurately.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

Were looking for a proven tradesperson not someone who needs to be convinced that quality safety and accountability matter.

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of welding experience required.

• Valid welding certification from an accredited institution preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints preferred.

• Valid Drivers License and clean driving record preferred.

• Knowledge of welding equipment techniques and metal properties.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work in a variety of physical environments including climbing on and working underneath heavy equipment.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and time-management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

• Commitment to following applicable workplace and trade safety requirements and practices.

Requirements (Conditions of Employment)

Employment at Alpha Inc. is contingent upon:
Completion of standard pre-employment screening.
Successful completion of a background check conducted after a conditional offer; any prior issues will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis consistent with Hawaii and federal law.
