Senior Administrative Assistant - Financial Planning & Analysis/FP&A (Hybrid in Buffalo, NY))

Work Arrangement/Location

Hybrid position requiring four days per week of in‑office work at the One M&T Plaza office in Buffalo, NY.

Overview

Provides high‑level, more complex secretarial/administrative support to senior management employees or groups in the Bank.

Primary Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between manager and bank personnel, responding to questions and issues on departmental matters.
• Creates non‑routine correspondence and communications on behalf of manager.
• Perform high‑level administrative / project assignments, relieving management of many day‑to‑day operations and ensuring smooth functioning of the department.
• Prepare and arrange business presentations, management letters, and other communications to include agendas and meeting minutes.
• Schedule appointments and maintain calendar for manager; coordinate all travel arrangements.
• Prepare disbursements and billings for approval; maintain financial expense records.
• Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with company or regulatory standards and policies.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required

• Associate's degree or equivalent in experience.
• 4 years progressive secretarial/administrative support experience with demonstrated development of skills on the job.
• Strong calendar management skills.
• Strong computer skills, including experience using the Microsoft Office Suite in the workplace.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Ability to navigate a large corporate environment.
• Takes initiative and able to anticipate the needs of the executive this position supports.
• Executive presence.

Education and Experience Preferred

• Travel & expense management ideal.
• Experience using Concur, Webex, & Teams.
• Interest & ability to coordinate team events, engagement, townhalls, etc.

Compensation

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market‑informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $20.55 - $34.25 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
