Overview
Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. This 10-week position starts on 08/31/2026, with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Shifts are 16-hour day shifts with rotating start times. The setting is a Short Term Acute Care Hospital. Weekly pay will be between $481 and $515 per week.

Responsibilities
- Circulate in the Operating Room during surgical procedures, coordinating care with surgeons and anesthesia and managing equipment, supplies, and staff.
- Maintain aseptic technique and patient safety throughout the perioperative phase; assist with patient positioning and comfort.
- Prepare patients and the OR environment for procedures; safely operate routine OR equipment.
- Conduct pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care planning and assessment following department criteria.
- Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials generated during operative procedures; document tissue handling and related processes per guidelines; utilize facility information systems as needed.
- Participate in emergency readiness and on-call activities as required by the unit schedule.

Requirements
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience: One year of prior full-time operating room experience required
- Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license in California required; Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and PALS required
- Additional: OR, orthopedic, neurological, and trauma experience preferred or required; ability to work 16-hour shifts with rotating start times; on-call duties (at least 1 night and 1 weekend per schedule)
