Lead Test Engineer

The QTI Group is partnering with a manufacturer based in the Greater Madison area as they continue to grow, looking to add a new Lead Test Engineer. The Lead Test Engineer will play a key role in the design, development and implementation of testing solutions and operations during the new product development process and will combine hands-on technical expertise with project leadership while helping shape the future of manufacturing processes, automation, and testing technologies.ResponsibilitiesLead the development and implementation of integrated systems that address manufacturing, testing, inspection, and assembly challengesPartner with business units, engineering teams, and product development groups to define requirements and deliver effective technical solutionsEvaluate manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and test coverageServe as a key engineering resource for new product development initiatives, helping determine testing and assembly requirements early in the product lifecycleManage projects from concept through implementation, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and aligned with business objectivesDesign, validate, and deploy solutions involving controls, automation, functional testing, and manufacturing systemsResearch, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies that enhance manufacturing performance and product qualityAnalyze manufacturing and testing data to identify trends, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement initiativesProvide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineers and techniciansCommunicate project status, recommendations, and results to leadership and key stakeholdersCollaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize processes and drive consistency across manufacturing operationsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with 3+ years of experience working with control systems, automation, or integrated manufacturing systemsStrong knowledge of electrical circuits, system controls, serial communications, and functional test systemsFamiliarity with LabVIEW, Python, C++, Visual Basic, PLCs, or similar programming technologies preferredStrong project management skills with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and complex initiativesDemonstrated ability to evaluate technical requirements and develop comprehensive solutions to manufacturing challengesExcellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration skill
