Counselor, Counseling Services

Counselor, Counseling Services Provides individual, group, and crisis counseling services to students presenting with personal, academic, emotional, and mental health concerns. Conducts assessments, intakes, evaluations, and treatment planning using evidence-based counseling practices. Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, university policy, and state licensure requirements. Responds to mental health crises and participates in on-call or emergency response protocols as assigned. Provides referrals to campus and community resources as appropriate. Develops and delivers outreach, prevention, and psychoeducational programming for students, faculty, and staff. Consults with faculty, staff, and administrators regarding student concerns while maintaining confidentiality standards. Participates in case management, multidisciplinary teams, and coordination of care. Complies with ethical standards established by professional counseling associations and the Mississippi State Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors. Engages in continuing education and professional development to maintain licensure and competency. Performs other related duties assigned in support of Counseling Services and the university mission. Other related duties, as assigned Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or Social Work, from an accredited institution. Licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). 3 years of relevant clinical counseling experience Licenses/Certifications: Must hold a licensure recognized by the Mississippi State Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors or Social Workers within the timeframe required by the university.
