Entry-Level Commercial Door Installer / Warehouse Assistant

This is not a general labor position.

We're looking for someone with at least one year of experience in construction, warehouse operations, maintenance, fabrication, installation, locksmithing, or a related trade who wants to build a long-term career in the commercial door and hardware industry.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of relevant construction, warehouse, fabrication, maintenance, or trade experience
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Basic computer skills
• Reliable transportation
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to safely lift and handle doors, frames, hardware, and materials
• Comfortable working both in the field and warehouse
• Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification after hire
• Willingness to learn welding and fabrication skills

Warehouse Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse
• Maintain accurate inventory of doors, frames, hardware, tools, and materials
• Track inventory levels and report shortages
• Ensure all tools and equipment are checked in and out properly and accounted for
• Receive, inspect, and organize deliveries
• Pull and stage materials for upcoming projects
• Load and unload trucks safely
• Operate pallet jacks and warehouse equipment
• Assist with warehouse organization and process improvements

Field Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of hollow metal doors and frames
• Assist with architectural hardware installation
• Support technicians on active jobsites
• Deliver tools and materials as needed
• Assist with service work and punch-list completion
• Learn blueprint reading, door schedules, hardware schedules, and door handing

Growth Opportunities

• Automatic operators
• Access control hardware
• Card-reader-ready openings
• Fire-rated door assemblies

Experience with major architectural hardware manufacturers and product lines is a plus.

Employment Requirements

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, coworkers, project management, inspectors, and general contractors.
• Must be able to understand and communicate jobsite instructions, plans, schedules, specifications, and safety requirements.
• If English is not your primary language, you must be willing and able to utilize available technology, including real-time translation tools, to ensure clear and effective communication at all times.
• Must be able to safely perform the physical demands of the position.
• Must be dependable, willing to learn, take direction, and maintain a professional attitude.
• Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
