This position is designated as work-from-home.

Essential Functions & Duties:

• Provide competent technical guidance to complex Database Administration challenges.
• Supports users by resolving problems with application databases.
• Provide direction to junior Database Administrators.
• Provide expert support for production application databases with respect to availability, reliability, and integrity.
• Optimize database performance.
• Coordinate production database deployment including tasks to promote database objects between environments (e.g., test to production) in support of application requirements.
• Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud to address SQL vulnerabilities
• Experience with Azure monitoring; Disk, CPU and Memory.
• Determine and implement appropriate application database backup and recovery strategies, including Azure Recovery Service Vaults.
• Manage performance of DBMS-specific software and environment infrastructure, including Upgrade and certification of the DBMS and software patches; development of DBMS standards; technical consulting relating to the DBMS and environment; and assessment, recommendation, installation and support of related tools.
• Share knowledge with team members to ensure a well-trained and qualified staff.

Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:

• Advanced knowledge of Azure security policy compliance, SQL Server Database Performance tuning, Storage accounts and relational database engines (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
• PowerShell scripting and SQL Server Availability Groups experience.
• Advanced proficiency in analytical, project planning, negotiating, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral).

Citizenship or Work Authorization Required: US Citizen

Preferred Education & Experience:

• >5 years of experience as a relational database administrator
• Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs.As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $140,000.00 - $170,000.00
