Senior Network Engineer

Sr. Network Operations EngineerCMU's Computing Services department is searching for a Sr. Network Operations Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by being responsible for deployment, configuration, maintenance and monitoring of LAN and WAN networks. Monitors network security and connectivity. Gathers information to evaluate network performance, troubleshoots network problems, identifies user needs and determines network requirements.Your core responsibilities will include:Deploys, configures, manages and monitors Local Area and Wide Area Networks. This includes deploying and supporting network technologies and services such as routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, 802.11 wireless LANs, TCP/IP, Ethernet, SNMP and VPN. Monitors network security and connectivity.Gathers information to evaluate network performance, identify user needs and determines network requirements.Maintains accurate and updated documentation.Responds to tier 3 support requests regarding network issues; troubleshoots and determines resolution for network issuesOther duties as assigned.Flexibility, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Computing Services.
