Fleet Manager

Strategic Logistics Company is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee daily fleet operations and help support the continued growth of our asset-based transportation network. About the Role We are looking for someone who brings more than dispatch experience. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver with a growth mindset, takes ownership of challenges, communicates effectively with drivers, and is constantly looking for ways to improve fleet performance and efficiency. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day fleet and driver operations Coordinate driver schedules, dispatch, and equipment availability Maximize truck and trailer utilization while reducing downtime and empty miles Build and maintain strong relationships with company drivers and owner-operators Proactively resolve service, driver, and operational issues Monitor driver performance and service expectations Work closely with sales and operations to align available capacity with customer needs Identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency, processes, and profitability Help support the continued growth and development of our fleet Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in fleet management, dispatch, or trucking operations required Strong understanding of trucking and fleet operations Proven ability to manage and communicate effectively with drivers Strong problem-solving and decision‑making skills Ability to perform in a fast‑paced transportation environment Highly organized with strong attention to detail Proactive, accountable, and comfortable taking ownership of problems Growth‑oriented mindset with a desire to improve and develop operations Required Skills We're looking for someone who doesn't just manage what's happening today, but actively looks for ways to make the operation stronger tomorrow.
