Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN - Dialysis

Role Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN CAP 2) responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for hemodialysis patients. Key Duties Collects and analyzes patient data before, during, and after treatment, adjusting plans as needed. Provides patient and family education on treatment options and care plans. Administers medications and assists with emergency responses. Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective dialysis therapy. Documents clinical activities and updates care plans accordingly. Serves as a leader, coach, and mentor for staff and new employees. Participates in quality improvement and educational initiatives. Ensures laboratory procedures are correctly performed and reschedules missed collections. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current state licensure. CPR/BLS certification required. Minimum of 2 years nephrology nursing experience, with at least 3 months in hemodialysis. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and moving patients and equipment. Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. Additional Requirements May supervise or oversee staff, participate in training, and contribute to quality improvement activities.
