Plant Manufacturing Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Plant Manufacturing Manager to lead daily operations within a food manufacturing environment focused on baked goods production. This role is responsible for overall plant performance, including safety, quality, production, employee engagement, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a floor-focused leader who leads by example, builds strong teams, and drives continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.
• Drive operational performance through KPI management, continuous improvement, and process optimization.
• Develop and lead high-performing teams through coaching, accountability, and talent development.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with maintenance leadership to improve equipment reliability, asset performance, and capital planning.
• Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement solutions to improve plant performance and reduce downtime.
• Manage budgets, labor, yield, and operating costs while meeting customer and business objectives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience within food manufacturing; baking or dough production experience required
• Previous experience leading plant operations with responsibility for production, safety, quality, and workforce performance.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety systems, and manufacturing best practices.
• Experience driving operational excellence through KPI management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead teams, improve performance, and navigate employee relations matters effectively.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and P&L management.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Operational Excellence certifications are a plus.
