Vice President of Quality

The Vice President of Quality is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of Coltala Aerospace's Quality Management System (QMS), employee Training, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs. This executive role ensures compliance with FAA regulations, customer requirements, industry standards, and company policies while driving a culture of quality, safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement throughout the organization. The Vice President of Quality partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and executive leadership to develop and execute strategies that improve product quality, regulatory compliance, employee competency, and workplace safety. Primary Responsibilities Develop departmental goals, budgets, and strategic initiatives aligned with company objectives. Participate in corporate strategic planning and report metrics directly to executive leadership. Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives utilizing EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) or similar frameworks. Build high-performing teams, mentor managers, and oversee staffing, succession planning, and accountability. Provide executive leadership for the QMS, ensuring strict compliance with FAA regulations and customer requirements. Oversee QA, QC, Inspection, Calibration, Supplier Quality, Internal Audits, and Corrective Actions (CARs). Lead all customer, regulatory, and third-party quality audits. Ensure swift root cause analysis, investigation, and resolution of nonconformances, complaints, and escape prevention activities. Oversee a comprehensive training system ensuring technical competency across the workforce. Ensure all regulatory, safety, quality, and technical training requirements are met and fully documented. Collaborate with HR and department heads to identify skill gaps and foster a continuous learning culture. Guarantee adherence to OSHA, EPA, FAA, and all federal, state, and local safety rules. Champion a proactive safety culture and provide oversight for the Employee Health & Safety Committee. Review workplace incidents, spearhead investigations, implement corrective actions, and track safety trends. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Aviation, Business Administration, or a related field required. (In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible Quality experience within aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or MRO will be considered). Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in Quality within the aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or MRO industry. Minimum of 5 years of executive or senior leadership experience. Extensive knowledge of FAA regulations, aerospace quality systems, and regulatory compliance. Experience leading Quality, Training, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) functions preferred. Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement initiatives. Strong leadership, communication, coaching, organizational development, and the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. Skills/Abilities Required Comprehensive knowledge of FAA regulations and aerospace quality systems. Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), corrective actions, auditing, and risk management. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and Environmental Health & Safety practices. Excellent strategic planning, decision-making, and executive presentation abilities. Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
