Registered Nurse - Cardiac Telemetry Services

A full-time Registered Nurse opportunity is available on the Cardiac Telemetry Services unit at a 285+ bed Level II Trauma Center in Independence, Missouri. This hospital is recognized for its accredited Chest Pain Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Stroke Center, and accredited Cancer Program and Breast Center. The Cardiac Telemetry unit provides specialized care for patients with a broad range of cardiac and medical conditions in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

This position is based on a 36-bed cardiac specialty unit that cares for monitored patients with diagnoses including chest pain, stroke, COPD, gastrointestinal conditions, post-operative recovery, cardiac arrhythmias, and patients requiring cardiac drips or step-down care from the Progressive Care Unit and Trauma Center. The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing comprehensive assessments, continuously monitoring cardiac rhythms, recognizing and responding to arrhythmias, and providing timely interventions when changes in patient condition occur. The role also includes patient education, medication administration, and close collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac telemetry and step-down patients.

• Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret ECGs, and identify arrhythmias.

• Recognize changes in patient condition and provide prompt clinical intervention.

• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning.

• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate care.

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

• Promote patient safety and quality outcomes in a telemetry environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of acute care Registered Nurse experience required.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a Diploma, ADN, or BSN.

• Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or multistate compact RN license required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one year of hire.

• Strong telemetry interpretation, critical thinking, and communication skills.

• Ability to provide compassionate care in a fast-paced cardiac specialty unit.
