What you’ll doWorking closely with BIC leadership, the Business Intelligence Specialist - Operations role will help to manage the various operational processes that exist across the function. The successful candidate will play a central role in developing and executing key operational processes that drive the success of the function, evolve our culture, and ensure that we provide a seamless service to our internal clients and our team.The Research Operations Specialist, know internally as Business Intelligence Specialist - Operations, is a full-time role located in Dallas, Texas or Southfield, MI, and reports to a Business Intelligence Senior Specialist. Paid relocation is not available for this position. Research ResourcesAdminister global BIC research contracts, including evaluating renewal needs, periodically reviewing usage, onboarding new users, offboarding departing employees, and allocating invoice costs to various Industries and Service Lines within AlixPartners.Aid colleagues in implementing new research resources, guiding them through the process on their business case (budgets, checks, approvals, demos, procurement) to ensure agreement by all parties.Serve as a key relationship manager for BIC research and information providers, including: day-to-day vendor interactions, annual contract and fee negotiations, coordinating regular business reviews and update meetings, and facilitating user training to maximize resource adoption and value.OperationsMaintain and continuously improve core operational processes that support the effective day-to-day functioning of the Business Intelligence Center (BIC). Coordinate and facilitate monthly team meetings and communications, administer onboarding activities for new team members, and maintain BIC policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance, consistency, and effective risk management. Regularly review and update the BIC internal pages (BICHub and Vault) working with members of the Knowledge Management team.Additional responsibilities as identified. Work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.Results-oriented with the ability to connect day-to-day activities to broader business objectives, prioritize effectively, and follow through to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes.Ability to help surface new ideasEffective communication skills, both verbal and written in English, with the ability to deliver clear messages, collaborate effectively within and across teams, interpret requirements, establish clear objectives, build timelines, and provide regular updates on progress, outcomes, and recommendationsComfortable leveraging firm-approved AI tools and technology to support day-to-day work efficiencies, streamline tasks, and enhance productivity.Proficiency in various internal and external tools/platforms used to support both research and operations is highly preferred including, but not limited to:SharePoint (AlixHub – internal site)External client portals (for new joiners e.g. Gartner, Dow Jones, BvD, LexisNexis)Concur (finance/invoicing management system)Ironclad/Spring (Procurement/Legal contract database)TeamsServiceNow (BIC Request/KnowledgeBase for automated e-mail responses)Vault (internal BIC contract management SharePoint database)Ability to work independently to deliver accurate, timely work with professionalism, accountability, and high attention to detail.Excellent time management and organizational skills in managing individual priorities and adapting to changing needs with minimum guidanceExcellent customer service skills and mindset with the ability to collaborate across teams, functions, and seniority levelsCore working hours are generally 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.Must become familiar with, and promote and abide by, our Core Values as defined by the AlixPartners’ Code of Conduct and foster an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization.MUST BE CURRENTLY AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES.
