Respiratory Therapist - New Grad - All Locations

Job Overview This respiratory therapist position provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Responsibilities include monitoring and weaning patients on oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, drawing, analyzing, and reporting arterial blood gases and EKGs, delivering intermittent therapy, assisting with airway changes, and providing services as ordered by a physician in accordance with established policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures per policy and procedure. Review and document all clinical information for each patient. Educate patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans. Perform diagnostic procedures. Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to patient age within assigned area. Maintain professional certifications and keep knowledge of technical procedures up to date. Attend staff meetings and perform related duties as required. Education & Experience Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy (or related field) required. No work experience required. Certifications Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice. Certified Respiratory Therapist (National Board of Respiratory Care). Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (American Heart Association). Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (for NICU work). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Computer skills for data entry and retrieval of patient information, proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard use. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Physical Demands Job requires lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. The role may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and hazardous medications or waste. Physical demand requirements exceed those of sedentary work.
