Business Development Representative

Well recognized leader in the Masterbatch Market is hiring a Business Development Representative to expand its polymer additives, color concentrates, and compounds business.

This role focuses on winning new customers and developing new applications. You’ll sell directly to film manufacturers and compounders, with opportunities to expand into additional plastics-processing markets.

The territory is concentrated in the Midwest, with flexibility to pursue business nationwide. Must live within close proximity to major airports anywhere in the US.

Responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, and develop new customers for masterbatch, additives, color concentrates, and compounds.
• Build a qualified pipeline focused on polyethylene- and polypropylene-based applications.
• Lead opportunities from initial contact through product trials, qualification, and commercial launch.
• Identify opportunities in additional end markets and processing applications.
• Work with technical, manufacturing, and management teams to develop effective customer solutions.
• Negotiate business in coordination with management and achieve sales, volume, and profitability goals.
• Maintain accurate forecasts, pipeline information, and sales activity reports.
• Travel extensively to develop relationships, evaluate applications, and support customer trials.

Qualifications

• Sales experience in the masterbatch market, with demonstrated success winning new customers and generating profitable growth.
• Technical experience with masterbatch, polymer additives, color concentrates, or compounds, including their use in polyethylene and polypropylene applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry, marketing, or a related field preferred, with at least three years of relevant sales experience.
• Candidates without a bachelor’s degree will be considered with 7–10 years of directly applicable technical experience and sales experience in the masterbatch market.
• Experience selling directly to film manufacturers and compounders is particularly valuable.
• Ability to lead customer discussions and manage opportunities through product trials, qualification, and commercial launch.
• Comfortable working independently from a home office and traveling extensively, including overnight trips.
