This role involves working with students individually and in small groups, assisting with instructional activities, reinforcing learned concepts, and helping to maintain a positive and organized learning environment. The paraprofessional supports the social, emotional, and academic growth of all students. Help create and maintain a structured and predictable classroom environment. Assist students with self-regulation strategies and coping mechanisms. Qualifications: High school diploma, equivalent, or successful completion of ParaPro test required; Associate's degree or higher preferred. Experience and/or education working with children with special needs, preferred Ability to work cooperatively with classroom teacher(s), school adjustment counselors, and administrators. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, flexibility, and a genuine desire to support students with unique needs. Track record of professionalism and effective collaboration in the workplace. Status: 32.5 Hours Weekly Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, in accordance with the Gloucester Public Schools ESP salary schedule range of $29,355.00 - $35,535.00.
