Job Description:Principal Mainframe Software EngineerNote: Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.The RoleFidelity Investments Workplace Investing (WI) organization is seeking an experienced mainframe Software Engineer to join our Development team within Stock Plan Services (SPS) Technology tasked with making quality improvements to our equity compensation application. The selected candidate will provide technical leadership on a globally distributed team using a Mainframe technology stack. This role demands significant collaboration with members of various business and IT groups throughout the lifecycle of a typical problem or request.The Expertise and Skills You BringThe Expertise We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five or more (10 plus) years of experience in the job offered or five or more (10 plus) years of experience as a technical lead in mainframe brokerage or stock plan services systems and application development.Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (6) years of experience in the job offered or three (6) years of experience as a technical lead in mainframe brokerage and stock plan services systems and application development.The Purpose of Your RoleUse business and technical knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex stock plan services software applications on a mainframe platform running under a Z/OS environment. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.Fidelity’s Onsite Working ModelFidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues.
