Machine Handler

Day and Night Shift Openings!! Pay up to $19/hour

Join a busy Steel Service Center as a Slitter Helper supporting the safe and efficient operation of coil slitting machines. You will assist the operator in reading job tickets, loading and unloading coils, and performing setup tasks to ensure smooth production.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret job tickets
• Assist with loading large coils onto the uncoiler
• Help cut larger coils into smaller coils under operator guidance
• Unroll and rewind coils as part of the slitting process
• Set up overarm (excluding oscillators)
• Cut bands and unload cuts from uncoiler to turnstile
• Unload scrap material as needed
• Prepare finished coils for packaging
• Coordinate materials required for each job
• Perform basic housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe work area
• Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred but Not Required:

• Crane and/or forklift experience – a plus, but we will train the right candidate

After 90 Days (Hire-In):

• Eligible for monthly Shop Bonus

Requirements:

• Steel-toe boots/shoes are required – must pass inspection before starting
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and teamwork
• Ability to do basic math and lift/move heavy materials
• Willingness to learn and take direction
