Job Summary The Accountant – Advanced Professional will oversee accounting functions, analyze and reconcile financial transactions, and conduct examinations, investigations, audits, and reviews of records, reports, financial statements, and information systems. The role ensures compliance with regulations and policies, develops internal controls, and establishes uniform accounting practices within the institution. Responsibilities Compile and verify the accuracy and validity of complex accounting transactions, often requiring in-depth analysis and resolution. Prepare reconciliations of various financial data. Post and review the posting of transactions to appropriate accounts. Prepare and review financial schedules and reports. Maintain financial records. Prepare budget revisions as needed. Provide explanations and/or work direction to other accountants and clerical personnel regarding more complex assignments. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Educational Requirements – Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Experience – Three years of job‑related experience. Additional Information Job Grade: G05. Anticipated salary: $49,308 to $71,170 per year, commensurate with qualifications. This is a limited‑term position and is subject to funding availability. Employment is contingent on available funding and performance; Georgia Tech may terminate the assignment at any time. This position is not supervisory, does not require driving, travel, securing a purchasing card, or a security clearance. Background Check This is a position of trust.
