Prison Facilitator - HMP Highpoint

Job Title Shannon Trust facilitator – HMP Highpoint Overview Shannon Trust is collaborating with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to run peer‑led learning programs at HMP Highpoint. The role is prison‑based and is a fixed‑term position until 31 March 2028, with potential for permanent employment following contract renewal. Depending on contract award the position may be offered as a part‑time 18‑hour role. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery and development of the prison‑based reading and numeracy programme. Maximise opportunities for incarcerated individuals to learn to read. Collaborate closely with prison staff, volunteers, and mentors to design and implement programmes. Build and maintain relationships with residents, staff, and stakeholders, fostering a supportive learning environment. Qualifications Experience working in a prison setting or similar environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships. Resilience, determination and a problem‑solving approach. Willingness to obtain a prison security clearance – details of any relevant criminal convictions will be requested before a final offer.
