Security Guard

Job Description

This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and firm assets while delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively to security-related situations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the building, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises.
• Staff the security desk and greet employees, clients, and visitors in a professional manner.
• Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas to identify and report security or safety concerns.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, alarms, and other security-related situations according to established procedures.
• Prepare and maintain accurate incident reports, visitor logs, and daily activity records.
• Monitor surveillance systems and security equipment.
• Assist with emergency evacuation procedures and coordinate with emergency responders when necessary.
• Enforce company policies and procedures related to safety and building security.
• Communicate effectively with building management, employees, and external vendors.
• Utilize Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word to manage communications, prepare reports, and maintain security documentation.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Security Guard License required.
• Valid New York State Carry Permit required.
• Previous security, law enforcement, military, or corporate security experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word required.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Must be available to work the evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.

Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000
