Sr Business Analyst - Operations Performance & AnalyticsCapital One's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program is designed to safeguard our communities, company and country by preventing, detecting, and reporting on criminal activity within the financial system.To deliver on this objective, we consume customer and transaction data from across the entire enterprise, run models to detect risky customers and behavior, and then investigate that behavior, providing leads and evidence to support Law Enforcement investigations and prosecution.Success in AML stops criminal activity such as narcotics trafficking, human trafficking, and terrorist financing, while giving the company the confidence to grow and launch new products knowing we have sound and reliable AML defenses.Business Analysts drive decisions across a wide range of Program functions to keep Capital One's AML defenses ahead of advancements in criminal practices.General Responsibilities:Analysis: Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendationsProduct: Perform modeling/analytics to assist new product and pricing strategies for various lending productsMarketing: Support direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products, and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel. Help build targeted insights to inform the design and development of new customer experiences, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts designed to deliver on new go to market strategiesCredit Risk: Support step-change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysisExecution: Involve problem frame-works, develop hypotheses, test and analysis, solution development, scope operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts and develop a monitoring planPartnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: IT, Sales, Operations, Finance and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitabilityStrategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytic marketing & credit risk managementStrong business judgment, leadership and integrity: He/she should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to businessStrong communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skillsClear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. Previous consulting experience is a plusBasic Qualifications:At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysisCurrently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentrationPreferred Qualifications:Master's Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering1+ years of experience in Statistical model building1+ years of experience in market research1+ years of experience in SQL querying2+ years of experience in business analysis1+ years of experience in consultingCapital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900 for Sr. Business AnalystRichmond, VA: $101,100 - $115,400 for Sr. Business AnalystCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
