Senior Manager, IT SOX

Chicago HQ (Remote with occasional travel; 3 days onsite if local) Overview A global manufacturer with a broad international footprint is continuing to scale and evolve its operations, driving increased complexity across its systems and processes. As the organization invests in strengthening its accounting, reporting, and controls environment, this role will be central to enhancing IT governance and supporting a robust SOX framework. The Senior Manager, IT SOX will lead the IT component of SOX 404 compliance across a decentralized technology landscape. With multiple ERP platforms feeding into a centralized reporting environment, this is a highly visible role focused on system risk, integration, and upstream data governance. This individual will work closely with IT, Controllership, Internal Audit, and external auditors to help maintain a scalable and effective control environment as the business continues to evolve. Position Overview The Senior Manager, IT SOX owns IT General Controls and IT Application Controls across the global SOX program. This role blends technical expertise with strong cross functional partnership and plays a key role in driving consistency, compliance, and control maturity. Key Responsibilities Lead planning, execution, and monitoring of IT General Controls and application controls within the SOX 404 program Perform IT risk assessments and SOX scoping to ensure appropriate system coverage Oversee walkthroughs, control design, and testing across access, change management, IT operations, and key applications Maintain SOX documentation including narratives, flowcharts, and control matrices Partner with IT, Finance, Internal Audit, and external auditors on testing, evidence, and remediation Serve as a key contact for IT related external audit activity Provide guidance to global IT teams on SOX requirements and best practices Support onboarding of new systems and evaluate control gaps within complex environments Assess ERP control environments and impacts to downstream reporting and consolidation Review interfaces and automated processes to identify risk areas Drive continuous improvement through automation, monitoring enhancements, and process simplification Support the ongoing development of scalable IT governance and SOX processes Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, or related field 8+ years of experience in IT audit, IT SOX, or risk advisory Experience in complex, multi system environments in manufacturing industry Experience with large ERP platforms Exposure to consolidation systems preferred Experience supporting global SOX programs and external audits Strong communicator with ability to partner cross functionally Comfortable operating in a fast paced, evolving environment Why This Role Highly visible role within a global organization Opportunity to support ongoing transformation and system evolution Broad exposure across systems, processes, and stakeholders Strong partnership across IT, Finance, and Audit Opportunity to drive process improvement and control optimization Flexible work environment with Chicago presence as needed Base compensation: $150,000 to $175,000 + 15% bonus target Medical, Dental, Vision and 6.5% 401k match Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: The California Fair Chance Act Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance Search being run by Brian Esko – LHH Please apply directly or send your resume to View email address on click.appcast.io for consideration. #J-18808-Ljbffr LHH
