Advertising Sales Manager

Destination Indy is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Advertising Sales Manager to lead revenue growth across our expanding portfolio of print, digital, and experiential platforms. This role is ideal for a motivated sales professional with a passion for arts, entertainment and dining, and a strong understanding of media sales in a competitive marketplace. Position Overview The Advertising Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives to secure advertising partnerships with local, regional, and national brands. This individual will play a key role in driving revenue growth, building long-term client relationships, and positioning Destination Indy as a leading media platform for reaching diverse and engaged audiences. Key Responsibilities Identify, prospect, and secure new advertising clients across print, digital, and sponsored content platforms Manage and grow an existing book of business through strong relationship-building and client retention strategies Develop customized advertising solutions tailored to client goals, including integrated campaigns, branded content, and event sponsorships Collaborate with editorial and marketing teams to create compelling proposals and campaigns Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets Track sales performance, maintain accurate CRM records, and provide regular reporting and forecasts Represent Destination Indy at networking events, industry functions, and community engagements Stay informed on market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging opportunities in travel and tourism marketing Qualifications 3–5+ years of experience in advertising sales, media sales, or a related field Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets Strong understanding of digital advertising, print media, and integrated marketing campaigns Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment Established network within arts, hospitality, tourism, or local business communities is a plus Preferred Skills Experience selling to restaurants, high-end retailers, hotels, attractions and and lifestyle brands Familiarity with CRM platforms and sales analytics tools Creative thinker with the ability to develop unique, high-impact campaigns Competitive base salary plus commission structure Performance-based incentives and bonuses Flexible work environment Opportunities for travel and industry engagement Professional growth within a rapidly expanding media brand How to Apply Interested candidates should submit a resume and a brief cover letter outlining relevant experience, sales achievements and salary requirements.
