Assistant Cook Position
Washington Middle School is seeking a reliable and hardworking Assistant Cook for the 2026-2027 school year to support meal preparation and service in our school cafeteria. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in serving students, this is a great opportunity to be part of our team.
What You'll Do:
- Assist with preparation and serving of meals in the cafeteria
- Step in for Head Cook duties when needed
- Help clean and maintain kitchen and cafeteria areas
- Assist with proper storage and disposal of food
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Support a clean, organized, and safe food service environment
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and school personnel
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with large-scale food preparation preferred
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stay organized and manage time effectively
- Dependable and able to handle a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Awareness of safety, cleanliness, and district policies
