We value our professional and caring employees who strive to improve the lives of those in our care and we welcome the opportunity to visit with you about joining our team.Position summary: A licensed practical nurse is responsible for providing nursing care and assistance for ill and/or injured residents.Responsibilities include:Operate pill call, provide med pass, distribute medication and document as required by applicable policies and procedures in designated location(s)Under direction of the RN on duty and in accordance with approved standing orders, obtain initial health information and assist with treatment of inmates reporting to sick callRefer inmates to providers when appropriateAssist with provider linePerform emergency procedures as needed and call physician for treatment orders when necessaryKeep equipment and work area clean; Prepare exam room and equipmentControl medication, syringes and other medical supplies as requiredClosely monitor all potential catastrophic illnessesMaintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records; observe applicable HIPAA rulesEducation and experience requirements:Graduation from a licensed practical nurse programAn active licensure as a practical nurse in the state of FloridaOne (1) year of experience preferred, to include EKG, phlebotomy, injections, IV, casting and wound careA valid driver's license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by managementManagement & Training Corporation (MTC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
